Chicago fire x orlando city sc

On Saturday evening at Soldier Field, Chicago Fire FC drew Orlando City SC 0-0 for their second scoreless tie to begin their 2022 MLS season. When Junior Urso's long-range shot deflected past Chicago goalkeeper Gaga Slonina in the 73rd minute, Orlando thought they had taken the lead. After a lengthy Video Review, referee Ismir Pekmic ruled striker Ercan Kara handled the ball in the buildup, and the penalty was revoked.

In the 18th minute, Chicago winger Stanislav Ivanov's curling effort caused Orlando goalkeeper Pedro Gallese to make an acrobatic save following a corner kick. Kacper Przybylko, a striker, came close to scoring with a header in the 85th minute. Orlando and Chicago were two of the busiest teams in the offseason, especially in terms of final-third alterations. However, both Eastern Conference teams are waiting for their premium acquisitions to pay off, with Xherdan Shaqiri held scoreless on his home debut and Facundo Torres' impact on the Lions being muffled.
