Seattle Sounders x la galaxy

The Seattle Sounders FC upset the Los Angeles Galaxy 3-2 at Lumen Field on Saturday afternoon, with Xavier Arreaga's free header with barely 20 minutes remaining serving as the game-winner. Seattle fell behind in the sixth minute to a beautiful team goal capped by Chicharito but drew level just over ten minutes later when Jordan Morris grabbed just enough of a pass in front of LA's goal.

In first-half stoppage time, Julian Araujo fouled Fredy Montero in the box, and the Sounders were awarded a penalty kick. Montero took the penalty kick and converted to put his team up 2-1. After Douglas Costa's free-kick attempt was deflected past Stefan Frei to tie the game early in the second half, Seattle took the lead for good in the 72nd minute when Arreaga scored on a header past LA goalkeeper Jonathan Bond to make it 3-2.

The Sounders won their first game of the season against the previously unbeaten Galaxy in a thrilling Western Conference clash in the Pacific Northwest. It's also a historic win as the Galaxy have won 200 games in 425 MLS regular-season matches, making them the quickest team to do so since the Galaxy. However, the injury to Sounders center back Yeimar Gomez Andrade is a concern as the team prepares to travel to Mexico on Thursday for the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Club León.
