Chivas guadalajara x Club America

While the members of the Mexican national team were busy with the Mexican national team, Club America and Chivas played a friendly match in Atlanta, Georgia. The players kept the game lively despite the lack of international stars with America ultimately winning.

America took the lead in the 10th minute on a deflected shot, and the game was off to a roaring start. Only fifteen minutes into their lead did Chivas manage to tie the game from a corner kick. Aside from it, the rest of the half would be devoid of any significant drama. However, immediately after halftime, America regained the lead on a magnificent solo effort by Jürgen that glided into the bottom right corner of the goal. In the 72nd minute, Jonathan Dos Santos scored to put the icing on the cake for America with a stunning strike from beyond the Chivas' penalty area. He was on the receiving end of a late pass from Brian Rodrguez and he finished it off with a curling shot to the top left corner. With such a buffer, Chivas would be able to close out the game and secure their win in this friendly.
