Colorado Rapids x FC Dallas

Saturday's 1-0 victory against FC Dallas capped up a successful 2022 home season for the Colorado Rapids. The game was played at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park, and the winning goal was scored in the 66th minute by striker Diego Rubio. William Yarbrough, the Rapids' goalkeeper, notched his 26th shutout with the Rapids in the Western Conference encounter, matching him with Clint Irwin for second all-time in the club's archives.

Sam Nicholson and Michael Barrios teamed up in the second half to set up Rubio's goal; Nicholson drove the ball towards the top of the 18 and set up Barrios on the right side. With keen vision, Barrio saw Rubio all alone in the box, and he sent a square ball through the middle of the Dallas defense to set up Rubio's goal-scoring low one-touch shot. On that same Saturday, the MLS and Rapids great Drew Moor came off the bench in the 80th minute for his farewell game at altitude. After fellow colleague, Gustavo Vallecilla was sent off and the Rapids were down to 10 men, the defender was brought into the game. He played a crucial role in the defense of his longstanding team, helping them to victory.
