New England Revolution x NYCFC

In a match played on Sunday night at Gillette Stadium, the New England Revolution defeated New York City FC by a score of 3-0, putting them in a tie for seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The Rev's defense has recorded nine shutouts this year, including two in a row.

Bell started his 2022 account for New England with a left-footed shot from the center of the box, pushing the ball past Sean Johnson. In the 33rd minute, Buck doubled New England's lead.  After receiving a pass from Maciel, the 17-year-old from Arlington, Massachusetts moved toward the goal and fired a left-footed drive that snuck inside the near post.

McNamara, who was making his 25th start of the year, scored the final goal of the night. The veteran midfielder pounced on a grounded cross from rookie right back DeJuan Jones to score his first goal of 2022. Jones has tied Brandon Bye for second on the club in assists with six this year to finish the match at 3-0.
