OL Reign dominated Gothan FC in a 4-1 win. 

With a throw-in assist from Megan Rapinoe, Rose Lavelle scored the game's first goal in the 15th minute. Megan noticed Rose running toward the goal, slipping by two defenders and simply letting one fly over the defenders to her. Rose made a few dribbles before taking her shot, which found the bottom right corner of the net. When Megan was brought down inside the area after intercepting a loose ball that was put in for Ellie Jea, the OL Reign was given a penalty kick. Ellie tripped her up and received a yellow card for it instead of attempting to win the ball back. In the 42nd minute, Megan converted a penalty kick to make it 2-0.

OL Reign continued to apply pressure on both sides of the pitch. Rapinoe eventually scored again as a result of this pressure in the 69th minute. This goal was scored immediately following a throw-in that was handed to Jordyn Huitema, who was being guarded by two players, and who subsequently transferred the ball to Rapinoe for a quick goal. When Ifeoma Onumonu sent the ball to Taylor Smith of Gotham, she would receive it and score the lone goal for her team in the 72nd minute. When she was up against three defenders, she decided to take the 1v3 shot and succeeded in beating Phallon Tullis-Joyce for the goal. Inadvertently giving the OL Reign a 4-1 lead, Mandy Freeman committed a fatal error by placing the ball in her own net.
