The Orlando Pride were beaten by the Portland Thorns FC, 2-0, in a match played on Friday night at Exploria Stadium. With this loss, the Pride has now lost two in a row for the second time this season.

In the 31st minute, Portland scored their first goal after working the ball down the left side of the field and into the path of Morgan Weaver, who was making a move into the box. Yazmeen Ryan scored on a side-footed shot at the near post after receiving a cross from Weaver in the middle of the box. Then, in the 65th minute, Hina Sugita scored after Olivia Moultrie picked up a loose ball on the edge of the box and set her up for a low, hard shot that landed in the bottom right corner of the net.

Orlando goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse made her first regular-season start in Orlando and was instrumental in the team's performance with six saves. In the 57th minute, she produced a spectacular diving stop after a Thorns player fired a rocket of a strike at the net. Moorhouse stretched to her limit to avoid a goal for Portland, and her effort paid off as she deflected the ball beyond the goal line.
