Seattle Sounders x FC Cincinnati

With goals from Brenner and Fredy Montero, the Seattle Sounders tied FC Cincinnati at 1 a piece on Tuesday at Lumen Field.

FC Cincinnati, scored the first goal of the night after Luciano Acosta put Brenner in behind the Seattle defense for a one-on-one opportunity in the 24th minute. Will Bruin's header on a cross in the area for the Sounders was parried away by goalkeeper Roman Celentano in the 35th minute. In the 58th minute, Seattle tied the score when Montero finished off a pass from Kelyn Rowe on the right side of the box. After setting up the play, the Colombian veteran fired a shot that went in off the near post for his fourth goal of the year.

In the 69th minute, the Sounders suffered a major blow when Rowe was sent off for preventing a goal-scoring chance at the top of the box. In the 76th minute, Cincinnati came close to taking the lead, but Stefan Frei made a wonderful stop to deny Brandon Vazquez's six-yard effort.

In the third minute of stoppage time, Cincinnati's Sérgio Santos had a golden opportunity to take all three points, but his one-timed effort from a few yards out went high and wide of the goal. In the Western Conference standings, the Sounders are in ninth place with 40 points and two games left after today's draw. As of right now, Seattle United FC sits five points behind Minnesota United for the eighth and final playoff place.
