Inter Miami x Montreal CF

In their 400th regular season match in MLS, and 200th away match since 2012, CF Montréal secured an exciting 3-2 victory against Inter Miami CF on Sunday at Chase Stadium. This performance marked a strong start for Laurent Courtois' team, garnering seven points out of nine possible and remaining undefeated in three away matches, the second-best start since joining MLS. Additionally, the Club reinforced its advantage against Miami with an overall record of 6-2-1 and 3-2-0 at Chase Stadium.

CF Montréal took the lead in the 13th minute with Fernando Álvarez heading in a corner for his career's first goal. Although Miami leveled the score in the 71st minute through Leonardo Campana, Montréal quickly regained the lead with Matías Cóccaro scoring a header from Mathieu Choinière's free-kick. Sunusi Ibrahim added a third goal for Montréal in the 77th minute, giving the visitors a two-goal lead, but Miami reduced the deficit in the 80th minute with a strike from Jordi Alba.

The next challenge for the Impact will be against the Chicago Fire on Saturday, March 16, at Soldier Field. This match was also notable for several milestones, including the first MLS goals for Fernando Álvarez and Matías Cóccaro, as well as the remarkable returns of players like Bryce Duke, Ariel Lassiter, and Josef Martínez to Chase Stadium after playing for Inter Miami in 2023.
