Angel City x Houston Dash

On Sunday night at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California, the Houston Dash and Angel City FC battled to a scoreless tie. Houston is the only team in history to play two straight matches a man down and not lose both of them by securing a draw in each of them.

In the third minute, Houston's Michelle Alozie almost scored after receiving a cross from Joelle Anderson, a midfielder. Angel City FC goalie DiDi Harai's gloves made contact with the side of Alozie's head as she got a head on the ball at the near post.

Forward In the 15th minute, Diana Ordóez created space for herself by applying pressure to the ACFC defense. A long-range effort from Ordóez beat a diving Harai. The ball just missed the near post and went out for a goal kick for ACFC.

After Alozie had been awarded a free kick in the 20th minute, Anderson took a shot. From just beyond the box, forward Maria Sánchez placed the ball in front of the goal. Anderson took the loose ball in the penalty area, but her attempt went high and wide. Alozie finally managed to get a shot off on the far side of the ACFC goal three minutes later, in the 23rd minute. The international from Nigeria took a shot, but it only struck the post and went out for a goal kick.

The opening shot of the second half was taken by defender Caprice Dydasco, but it went out of bounds from the right side of the penalty area. In the 76th minute, Campbell made two stops as ACFC attacker Alyssa Thompson got by a few defenders and had an attempt on goal.

Houston's greatest second-half opportunity came via a shot taken by Salmon, who entered the game as a sub in the 80th minute. Salmon's attempt went in at the near post and ricocheted back into play, where the ACFC team collected it.
