HOUSTON dynamo x lafc

The Houston Dynamo welcomed visiting Western Conference powerhouse LAFC to their house this past weekend in a match up that would end in the two squads splitting points. The action would kickoff in the first few minutes with both teams splitting chances on goal. A perfect through ball to Diego Rossi would be expertly saved with a timely diving save from Marko Maric. The action would continue to build as the game approached halftime with a teasing ball sent directly across the LAFC goal line by Urruti that was begging to be tapped in, but to no avail for Houston. The game would ultimately go into halftime tied with no goals to show among the two sides.

When the second half kicked off it was apparently clear that it wouldn’t take long for one of the two sides to make a breakthrough. LAFC would take advantage of this swing and in the 55th minute would expertly dance the ball around the top of the box until a slotted ball would land right at the feet of Corey Baird who bumped LAFC ahead 1-0. This lead wouldn’t last long. In the 57th minute Fafa Picault would break down the left sideline for the Dynamo placing a pinpoint cross into the box for Tyler Pasher who calmly on touched the ball into the net leveling the match for Houston. Even though this match would continue to heat up both sides would share blows fighting for the game winning goal. As promising as it seemed for Houston, the breakthrough would unfortunately never come.

Both teams would split the points this day and look ahead to the coming weekend where they will ultimately square off against their rivals. Houston will face Texas based rivals FC Dallas and LAFC takes on their hometown rival LA Galaxy.
