Colorado Rapids x charlotte FC

William Yarbrough stood tall and the Colorado Rapids played Charlotte FC to a 0-0 tie at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday night. Early in the game, the Rapids knocked on the door. Diego Rubio came close to scoring the first goal, but only hit the crossbar in the ninth and 24th minutes. After returning from halftime, Yarbrough kept the clean sheet by making two consecutive saves in the 49th minute against Daniel Rios and Karol Swiderski.

A day after being traded from the Columbus Crew, Gyasi Zardes made his Rapids debut, coming off the bench at the hour mark. In stoppage time, Yarbrough made a crucial save on McKinze Gaines, who was through on goal and seeking the game-winner. Charlotte FC may not have been able to get all three points, but they will have reason to rejoice. On the road, the expansion team scored their first point. Colorado received their first taste of Gyasi Zardes, who came off the bench and put in a 30-minute shift. The Rapids have now gone 20 games without losing at home in the regular season, which is a new club record.
