Seattle Sounders x FC DAllas

FC Dallas came to town in hopes of extending their win streak to three games for the first time since November 2020. However, Seattle shut that down with an early PK goal to win the game 1-0.

In the 4th minute, Jordan Morris got a good cross as he was running towards the middle from the outside wing, and when he got inside and dribbled around a defender, he passed the ball to Nicolás Lodeiro, who was running down the side of the field, Lodeiro would fire off a shot that was initially not secured by Maarten Paes, but luckily for him, the ball did not travel far, so he quickly put a hand on it to stop the ball. FC Dallas secured a turnover in the 24th minute. As they were going on a breakaway run, Alan Velasco drew a penalty when he was tackled by Yéimar Gómez, which resulted in a yellow card. In the 37th minute, Cristian Roldan made a cross to Jordan Morris, who was just inside the box, and who was behind the defender for a clear path to a possible easy goal. Maarten came out of the goal area and tried to knock the ball out of range, but instead, he knocked Morris out, and as a result, a yellow card and a penalty kick were given. Lodeiro took and scored on the PK to put Seattle up 1-0.

The second half provided us with great defensive performances from both teams. Neither team could get off very many shots on goal because as soon as someone would get an attempt off, somebody was right in front of each shot to block it. In the 86th minute, Seattle almost made it 2-0 when Nouhou was running down the right side with an open look at the goal, but the goalkeeper came out of his box to block the shot. FC Dallas would have their own shot on goal in the same minute. Jesús Ferreira received a cross from Nanú, who then headed the ball towards the net, where it almost made it in.
