new England revolution x Chicago fire

After a couple of unsuccessful attempts at a goal by both teams, a penalty was issued to New England’s Henry Kessler. The penalty, which was a handball, was a late call and was found to be a PK when the referee went to VAR. Christopher Mueller took the PK shot, but Dorde Petrovic made himself large and stopped the ball before it even got to the goal line. In the 24th minute, Tommy McNamara's goal was overturned by the use of VAR for the second time in this game. He was not at fault for this goal being overturned. It turned out that when Carlos Gil passed the ball behind his back to DeJuan Jones, the ball went over the line and was out of bounds. So, the game stood at 0-0.

The second half was filled with many scoring attempts. Both goalkeepers kept the game intact by providing much-needed saves and getting the point for both teams.
