ol reign x kansas city current

The OL Reign were eliminated from the NWSL playoffs by the Kansas City Current by a score of 2-0. There were a record-breaking 21,491 spectators at the game, more than double the Reign's previous single-game attendance record. Trouble for the Reign began early as they let in a goal in the fourth minute. To start the scoring, Alex Loera of Kansas City picked up a loose ball in the area after OL Reign had failed to clear it, and she sent it to the far post.

After the break, OL Reign continued their pursuit of a tie score. To kick off the second half, Fishlock scored two more goals for the Reign. The home team pushed forward, pressing Kansas City aggressively in pursuit of an equalizer. Contrary to the flow of the game, the Current extended their advantage in the 63rd minute when forward Kristen Hamilton created space for herself at the top of the box and buried a shot into the bottom corner.

OL Reign kept at it, getting a number of corner kicks and making some nice passes in attacking territory, but they just couldn't score. The Reign kept battling even after falling down by two goals. The Reign's 2022 campaign ended with this 2-0 score.
