On March 18th at Gillette Stadium, the New England Revolution beat Nashville SC by a score of 1-0. Gustavo Bou's first goal of the year, which DeJuan Jones assisted on, and three stops from Djordje Petrovic helped New England improve to 3-0 after four games of the 2023 season.

With three shutouts through four games, New England was equal for the most in MLS. The club's nine points through four games were its second-best start all-time. In the 52nd minute, Bou scored what would end up being the game-winning goal after receiving a DeJuan Jones pass and unleashing a left-footed strike inside the near post. Nashville SC's scoreless run ended at 322 minutes after they surrendered their first goal of the season. With his 38th regular-season goal, Bou advanced into the seventh position on the Revolution's all-time scoring chart.
