New England Revolution x NYCFC

On April 1st the New England Revolution and New York City FC faced off at Gillette Stadium in a match that ended in a 1-1 tie. Notching a team-high five shots, Carles Gil got his first goal of the season while Djordje Petrović made two stops to preserve the point for the Revolution.

Scoreless in the first half, The Revolution broke the stalemate when Bobby Wood passed to Gil who blasted a low, left-footed effort from outside the area into the bottom-right corner to pull New England ahead 1-0. However, the lead didn’t last long for New England as Talles Magno's header from a corner kick in the 80th minute tied the game for New York City.

Despite further back-and-forth action in the dying minutes of the match, the score would end with the points split when the entire 90 came to pass.
