New york red bulls x nashville sc

On Saturday night, in their Red Bull Arena debut, the New York Red Bulls and Nashville SC battled to a 0-0 draw. There were many opportunities for New York to score, but they could not do so. However, their defense was superb again, as they allowed no shots on target in their second game of the 2023 season.

After recording eight shutouts in 2015, Carlos Coronel recorded his first of the 2016 season. To date, Coronel has posted 13 career shutouts at Red Bull Arena. New York still has the best home clean sheet record in Major League Soccer, with 85 in the last eight years. Whether this continues is yet to be seen, but all things look promising from the early defensive form New York is in. This all could have been ruled out by an  Alex Muyl goal that was called back due to a reviewed offsides call, and Nashville's protests of an infraction committed by Walker Zimmerman inside the area let them off the hook late in the match as well. Nashville's showing against the Red Bulls was very different from its season debut on February 25 against NYCFC. Nashville had convincingly won their home opening match with a 2-0 scoreline at Geodis Park despite only managing four effective attempts on target.
