Orlando pride x angel city fc

A penalty goal from forward Claire Emslie, an equalizer from forward Messiah Bright, and a late goal from forward Katie Johnson gave Angel City their first victory on the road against the Orlando Pride.

In the 39th minute, Angel City took the lead on a penalty shot. Emslie calmly strode up to take the penalty and slid the ball to the right as goalie Anna Moorhouse leaped to her left.

After halftime, the Pride came out strong, creating several scoring opportunities, and ultimately drawing level on a goal by forward Messiah Bright in the 51st minute. Bright received a quick pass from Erika Tymrak in the middle of the field, then sprinted toward the goal, muscling past defenders Sarah Gorden and Megan Reid before firing past Haracic.

After ten minutes of extra time, Angel City finally won when Emslie's corner kick found the far side of the goal. Katie Johnson, a midfielder, scored the winning goal when she leaped high to get her head on the ball and direct it into the back of the net from a tight angle. Johnson's game-winning goal, which gave Angel City all three points as they traveled back to LA, was the latest in NWSL history.
