Philadelphia Union x Atlanta United

Philadelphia Union Dominate Atlanta United with 3-0 Victory

The Philadelphia Union put on a clinical performance at Subaru Park on April 19, 2025, delivering a 3-0 win over Atlanta United that showcased their offensive power and defensive resilience. The Union's solid win marked a return to form, leaving fans thrilled with the dominant display.

From the first whistle, both teams looked to set the pace, but it was Philadelphia who struck first in the 27th minute with a sensational goal. Quinn Sullivan, the homegrown star, blasted in a stunning half-volley that gave Atlanta goalkeeper Brad Guzan no chance. The strike not only opened the scoring but also highlighted Sullivan’s growing importance to the Union's attack. The home crowd erupted, celebrating the young talent’s incredible finish that gave the Union a 1-0 lead.

The Union came out of the locker room firing in the second half, and in the 50th minute, Danley Jean Jacques made his mark by scoring his first goal for the team. He latched onto a perfectly placed pass and calmly finished through the legs of the goalkeeper to double the Union’s lead. Despite a red card to Jovan Lukic in the 56th minute, reducing Philadelphia to 10 men, the team remained unshaken. Even with the numerical disadvantage, the Union kept pushing forward and never let their intensity drop.

In the 84th minute, the Union put the final nail in the coffin with a brilliant team effort. Sullivan made a timely assist to substitute Tai Baribo, who made no mistake in finding the back of the net. The goal sealed the 3-0 victory and showed just how deep and versatile Philadelphia’s squad is, with fresh legs stepping up to add to the scoreline.

Atlanta United, on the other hand, struggled throughout the match. Despite holding onto possession, they couldn’t break down the Union’s defense, which was impenetrable throughout. Their newly adopted 4-4-2 formation failed to make an impact, leaving them unable to find any rhythm or get back into the game after falling behind early.
