Philadelphia Union x CF Montreal
On July 12 2025 the Philadelphia Union put on an impressive display at Subaru Park to claim a solid 2-0 win over the New York Red Bulls. Right from the start the Union showed their intent with midfielder Indiana Vassilev opening the scoring in just the ninth minute after a perfectly delivered corner from Kai Wagner. The team kept up the pressure and doubled their lead in the 24th minute thanks to a slick finish from Bruno Damiani set up by the dynamic connection between Quinn Sullivan and Tai Baribo.
Defensively the Union were rock solid throughout the match with goalkeeper Andre Blake pulling off key saves to secure his fifth clean sheet of the season. The team’s ability to control possession and create chances highlighted their sharp tactics and growing confidence as a top contender in the Eastern Conference.
This important victory lifted Philadelphia back to the top of the table and sent a strong message to the rest of the league. The Union now look ahead with momentum on their side eager to keep their winning streak alive and push for a high playoff seed and possibly the Supporters’ Shield.
Their disciplined performance, blending attacking creativity and defensive toughness, showed why they are one of the teams to watch this season as the battle for MLS supremacy heats up.
