PSG x Inter Miami

Paris Saint-Germain stormed into Mercedes-Benz Stadium and crushed Inter Miami CF with a commanding 4 to 0 victory on June 29, 2025, bringing a harsh end to Miami’s Club World Cup journey and spoiling what many hoped would be another Messi masterclass.

The action kicked off almost immediately. In just the sixth minute, João Neves rose above the defense and nodded in a perfect header from a free kick, setting the tone for what would be a dominant performance. PSG didn’t take their foot off the gas. In the 39th minute, after a smooth one-two passing move from Fabián Ruiz and Bradley Barcola, Neves struck again with a clinical finish to double the lead.

Things only got worse for Miami from there. Tomás Avilés accidentally turned the ball into his own net, and just before the final whistle of the first half, Achraf Hakimi blasted home PSG’s fourth goal with a fierce low strike. The French champions had turned the match into a rout before halftime.

Lionel Messi tried to spark a second-half comeback with a few moments of brilliance, including a dangerous header and a curling free kick, but nothing broke through the Parisian wall. Inter Miami struggled to create chances, managing just three shots on target while PSG unleashed nine and dominated possession.

With the win, PSG cruised into the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup, while Inter Miami’s dream run ended in brutal fashion. It was a night to forget for the Herons, but a powerful reminder that PSG are a force to be reckoned with on the global stage.
