Seattle Sounders x FC Dallas
In a tense battle at Lumen Field on May 24, 2025, the Seattle Sounders FC left it late but made it count, securing a gritty 1–0 win over FC Dallas thanks to a clutch penalty from Albert Rusnák in the dying minutes.
The match was a chess match for most of the afternoon, with both sides probing but unable to break through. Seattle had the better of possession, Dallas stayed dangerous on the counter, but it took until the 86th minute for the breakthrough to come. A foul in the box gave the Sounders a golden chance from the spot, and Rusnák, cool as ever, stepped up and buried it. That’s five goals in five games for the red hot playmaker, and this one sealed three massive points.
It wasn’t just a win, it was a milestone. Rusnák became only the second player in MLS history to notch at least 25 goals and 25 assists with multiple clubs. The guy's rewriting the league one goal at a time.
Defensively, the Sounders were rock solid, absorbing late pressure from Dallas and locking down the clean sheet. With the win, Seattle pushed their unbeaten home streak to eight games and climbed to fifth in the West, continuing their steady rise in the standings.
