Seattle Sounders x Nashville SC
Sounders Catch Fire at Home, Dominate Nashville 3-0 in Statement Win
Seattle came alive under the lights at Lumen Field on April 19, delivering their most convincing performance of the season with a commanding 3-0 victory over Nashville SC. From the opening whistle, the Sounders looked energized, focused, and hungry — and they gave the home crowd plenty to cheer about.
Jordan Morris opened the scoring and reminded everyone exactly why he's one of Seattle’s most dangerous attacking threats. His goal was pure instinct — a clever run, a sharp finish, and a spark that lit up the Sounders’ offense. It was his third goal of the season and a sign that he's heating up at the right time.
But the night belonged just as much to Pedro de la Vega. The young Argentine dazzled with creativity and flair, constantly pulling the strings in the attacking third. His vision, ball control, and confidence were on full display, and it was no surprise when he was later recognized in MLS’s Team of the Week. He was everywhere — creating chances, pressing high, and drawing defenders out of position.
Cristian Roldán, as always, was the engine in the middle of the park. His work rate, smart passing, and leadership helped Seattle control the tempo of the game and frustrate any attempt by Nashville to get into a rhythm. Whether breaking up plays or launching quick transitions, Roldán was relentless.
Defensively, Seattle was airtight. Nashville struggled to create any meaningful chances as the Sounders' back line stood tall and organized. Stefan Frei wasn't called into action often, but when he was, he did his job with the usual calm and command. The clean sheet was a team effort, and it showed just how well-balanced Seattle can be when firing on all cylinders.
With this win, the Sounders not only secured three crucial points but also sent a message to the rest of the Western Conference: they’re back in business. The crowd fed off the energy all night, and the team fed off the crowd — a classic Seattle soccer night that fans won't forget anytime soon.
