Columbus crew x dc united

What a wild day in Columbus. What originally started as a fiery contest between two sides would end in a lopsided win for a Columbus team who wouldn’t even put more than one goal into the net themselves. The action would kick off with an absolutely perfect golazo free kick from Columbus’s Zelarayan who slotted it sweetly into the upper left corner of the net to put the team up 1-0. With this one goal lead early on the ball was in a visiting injury plagued DC United’s court to try and make a comeback. However, when the Crew would go on the break an unfortunate deflection on a shot would put the Crew up by 2-0 with an own goal. Kamara would end up getting the chance to cut the lead in half shortly after this by scoring against his former club with a tidy finish making it 2-1. However, Columbus would secure the lead even further with yet another unfortunate deflected goal later into the match when a cross would be deflected onto the chest of DC’s Brillant who had no chance but to knock it home for Columbus for their second own goal of the day. The match would end 3-1 leaving an injury battered DC side to return home to face Chicago in the coming week while Columbus can get their rest in and begin to prepare for their matchup against Toronto FC in their temporary home at Exploria Stadium down in Orlando.
